Getting around Oviedo

Oviedo is the capital of the Principality of Asturias and an energetic city that combines a spectacular historical heritage with the vibrant modernity of the 21st century. Therefore, its mobility is based on a sustainable, efficient and fast management model.

Due to its urban design model, based on the Roman grid, most of the urban heritage monuments are concentrated in a few streets that can be travelled by wide, comfortable and friendly sidewalks. There, visitors and tourists not only admire traces of the city's glorious past but also enjoy its shops and abundance of bars and restaurants.



In addition to the facilities for passers-by, Oviedo has modern urban transport thanks to a network of 13 bus lines that run throughout the city and connect the most important municipal locations.

As in the vast majority of Spanish cities, these routes operate with established stops and schedules, including the famous “búhos”, the night-time buses that operate on weekends and holidays.

Similarly, Oviedo offers an intercity transport service both at its bus stations and at the main stops in the city.
 
Oviedo also maintains a modern network of taxis distributed throughout the city, as well as a bicycle rental service in public parks and in the main points of tourist interest.
