The Caja de Burgos Art Centre (CAB) is dedicated to the dissemination and exhibition of contemporary art. It is located north of the historic centre, next to the Church of St. Stephen.

This artistic centre was inaugurated in 2003 and since then has amassed an important collection of pieces. It also hosts travelling exhibitions of important Spanish and international artists, as well as workshops and events of great importance in the social and community sphere.

The architectural design of the museum – the work of the AU Arquitectos consortium – is unique in that it integrates with the profile of the old town while also fitting the rest of the urban profile, taking advantage of its high elevation.

As part of its design, the museum's architectural ensemble is divided into two fundamental areas.

The first is a plinth made of masonry. Inside, it houses a range of private warehouses as well as exhibition areas and a projection room.

The second area of the museum is elevated above a terrace that adjoins the first area by three spaces built with different wooden slats and forming a peculiar structure, as if they were three drawers towards the city. Inside this second area of the museum, these three drawers are connected to each other by means of walkways that offer spectacular panoramic views of the city and that are part of the enormous attraction of the exhibition area.
