Burgos is located at an altitude of more than 850 meters in northern Meseta. That means it has a temperate oceanic continental climate. Winters are cold and windy, with minimum temperatures that drop below zero degrees Celsius.

The hottest months are those around July. The summer is hot, although not excessively so due to the height of the city. Burgos in summer oscillates between 25 and 27 degrees Celsius. The latter is the maximum temperature it reaches in these months of the year.

The city has 2,183 hours of sunshine per year, and summers are usually dry, hot, clear and short.

On the other hand, winter in Burgos is usually quite cold. The lowest temperature was recorded in December and was -22ºC. Thanks to these temperatures, snowfalls are very frequent and bathe the entire relief that runs through this town in white.

Although the lowest temperature was recorded in December, January is usually the coldest month because the snow is already on the relief. The temperature usually drops a little more due to this.

The best time of the year to visit Burgos and carry out activities in warm weather is from the end of June to the beginning of September.
