Mount Igueldo is a mountain 181 meters above sea level. It is one of three mountain peaks that can be admired from La Concha Bay. In addition, it is one of the most visited natural attractions in San Sebastian.
Its name comes from the Basque word "Igeldo"—a reference to the three peaks around San Sebastian, which have made the city famous since its founding.
In addition to its magnificent views, Mount Igueldo offers enormous attraction for visitors thanks to the series of tourist activities that have developed around it. Among them is the famous Hotel Mercure Monte Igueldo located at the top of its summit, and the popular Igueldo Funicular, founded in 1912.
Another attraction is the 16th-century old tower at the top of the summit. For many years, it was used as a wood-burning lighthouse. Currently, it functions as a beautiful viewpoint that offers a 360-degree view. There is also an amusement park that opened at the beginning of the 20th century.
All these attractions make Mount Igueldo an ideal place to admire the impressive beauty of San Sebastian and its coast. In addition, you can enjoy a series of attractions and taste exquisite food and drinks in one of the many bars and restaurants located in the neighbourhood around the mountain.
