The old Butcher is a 19th-century building that housed the public butcher shops of Jaen.
Under this building, the remains of the Arab baths, known as "Del Naranjo", have been found, and which experts date from around the 11th century. Since that time, the building was used for different purposes. In the 18th century, it began to be used as a butcher shop.
Opposite the old butcher's shop is the Los Caños Fountain, which was built in 1558. It consists of a large pillar-water trough, adorned with square pilasters. On the wall, two gods hold capitals shaped like baskets of flowers on their heads, decorated with a frieze with rosettes.
You can see a high relief where naked children appear, from whose mouths stem pipes from which the water flows.
