Routes in Barcelona

Barcelona is the most important city in Catalonia and the second largest and most important in all of Spain, not only due to its population but also because it is the most important development pole in eastern Spain and because it has an incredible wealth of heritage surpassed only by that of Madrid. This significant cultural wealth has given rise to countless thematic routes of enormous appeal to tourists.

Among the most important are the Modernist Route, where one can admire the spectacular buildings of great Catalan modernist architects in emblematic streets such as Consell de Cent and Aragó or in the Eixample district, containing works by architects such as Doménech, Morera, Cadfalch and Gaudi.

The Gaudí Route is one of the most visited due to the immense fame of this Catalan architectural genius who filled the city with extraordinary buildings, including the spectacular Sagrada Familia Cathedral, still under construction, the Millà House, Güell Park and the Güell Palace, among many others.

The Contemporary Route focuses on contemporary Barcelona architecture identified in buildings such as the Collserola Tower, the Auditori, the Barc de Roda Bridge, the Olympic Village and the spectacular MACBA headquarters.

The Medieval Route exhibits invaluable monuments of enormous heritage importance such as the spectacular Gothic churches of Santa Maria del Pi and Santa Maria del Mar as well as civil buildings such as La Llotja and the Reials Drassanes.

Other very popular routes are the Roman Route, the routes of great artists such as Picasso and Miró, the Einstein Route, the Viewpoints Route, the Montjuic Botanical Route and the spectacular Street Sculptures Route, among many others.
